- bringing home the catch at the end of the day, the fishing vessel 'Girl Catriona' heads for Murrisk. Those sharp eyed among you may remember this boat from my picture in January, when I pictured it high and dry at low tide on Murrisk Beach.

Boyeeghter Bay

BOYEEGHTER BAY, Rossguill Peninsula … County Donegal.

This is one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches in Donegal. There are no car parks, ice cream vans or sun loungers here … you have to walk over the fields and dunes to get to this one. 

The bay is known locally as ‘The Murder Hole’ and, although the area is steeped in legend, I have yet to find out how it got its name. Perhaps one of ye knows ...
