Wonderful road trip

If you're on this road, you're on the spectacular Slea Head Drive in County Kerry. We're on the stunning Wild Atlantic Way here and the Slea Head Drive takes you in a circle, beginning and ending in Dingle town, presenting you with stunning views everywhere you look ... long sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs, majestic mountains, lush countryside and woodlands, picturesque fishing villages and ancient sites ... this area is littered with relics from both the Stone Age, the Bronze Age and the Ecclesiastical period, when Ireland was known as 'The Land of Saints and Scholars'.
As you soak in the scenery, you'll pass Coumenoole Strand, where Ryan's Daughter was filmed, and Dún Chaoin where you'll see for yourself the unique pier, so popular on Irish postcards. You can stop here and take a ferry out to the Great Blasket ... An Blascaod Mór. The Blasket Islands are the last outpost of Europe, next stop America ... famous for the literary and linguistic heritage of their former inhabitants.
Watch out for Fungie the dolphin at the entrance to Dingle Harbour!
