Once upon a time, there was a king who had one really close friend from his youth. This friend became the king's most trusted minister. The minister had an amazing ability to find the bright side of things. Whatever happened, whether it seemed good or bad, he invariably commented, "This is good!"

The minister always accompanied the king on his favorite adventures: hunting in the jungle. But once while hunting on a rainy day, the king slipped as he let the arrow go and the arrow pierced the king's thumb. Immediately, the minister wrapped a cloth around the injury to stop the bleeding as the king howled in agony.....and then the minister remarked, "This is good!"

Ceci fut la goutte d'eau qui fit déborder le vase . Le roi était déjà irrité d'entendre son ministre décrire chaque mésaventure comme " bonne . Et cette fois il se sentait injurié vraiment ; sa main était peut être à jamais abîmée et tout ce que son ministre avait à dire était que c'était bien !!!! Rentré au village il le fit jeter en prison . Même là le ministre se mit à répéter : " C'est bien " .

They tied him to a stake and began to boil water. But they noticed that his thumb was badly damaged. The drums stopped, they untied the king and forced him out of their camp. The king ran home. Why was he saved? Being superstitious, his captors believed that eating anyone who was less than completely whole would cause a terrible curse to fall upon them.

Quelques semaines plus tard le roi avait retrouvé assez d'énergie pour aller à nouveau à la chasse , et seul cette fois. Une tribu de cannibales cassait dans les environs . Le roi se fit entouré , capturé et ramené au camp . Il fut attaché à un poteau pendant que l'on faisait bouillir l'au de la marmite . Mais voilà qu'ils virent le pouce bien endommagé . Arrêt des tambours . Le roi fut détaché et chassé hors du camp. Le Roi s'empressa de rentrer ! Pourquoi avait-il été épargné ? Superstitieux comme étaient ses agresseurs , ils croyaient que manger un être incomplet leur porterait malheur .

The friend explained, "If I had not been in jail, I would have been with you on the hunting trip. I would also have been captured by the cannibals - and I am completely whole! THIS IS GOOD."

Quand le roi arriva chez lui il pense immédiatement à son ami ,le ministre et le libéra . Il s'excusa encore et encore en disant : " Le fait que je me sois blessé au pouce m'a sauvé des cannibales . J'ai eu tort de te mettre en prison . Mais le ministre dit " Aller en prison était bien pour moi " Le roi ne comprenait pas . Mais son ami expliqua que si il n'avait pas été en prison il serait reparti chassé avec le roi et eut été prisonnier des cannibales et dévoré tout entier qu'il était ! Donc c'est bien !
