La pierre

A wise woman was traveling in the mountains when she found a precious stone in a stream.

Une femme sage voyageait dans les montagnes quand elle trouva une pierre précieuse

 The following day she met another traveler on the road who was hungry. The wise woman opened her bag to share her food with the traveler. When the hungry traveler saw the precious stone asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without any hesitation. Le lendemain elle croisa sur la route un autre voyageur qui avait faim . La femme sage ouvrit son sac et partagea sa nourriture avec le voyageur . Quand le voyageur affamé  vit la pierre précieuse il demanda à la femme de la lui donner . Elle le fit sans hésitation .

The traveler parted ways with the wise woman rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But, a few days later he had second thoughts and so he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. Le voyageur quitta fa femme sage  en se réjouissant de sa bonne fortune  il savait que grâce à cette pierre il était à l'abri du besoin pour le restant de ses jours. Mais quelques jours plus tard il vit les choses différemment et revint rendre la pierre à la femme sage.

"I've been thinking," he said. "I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious. Please give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me this stone." "J'ai réfléchi , dit-il .  Je connais la valeur de cette pierre mais je viens vous la rendre avec l'espoir que vous puissiez me donner quelque chose de plus précieux encore . Donnez-moi je vous prie ce qui a l'intérieur de vous a permis de me donner cette pierre."
