Le trésor

There once was a Rabbi who lived in a small town. He was a devout man and well respected within the community. One night he had a vivid dream that there was great treasure buried beneath the foot of a bridge, in a big city, far away. Il y avait une fois un Rabin qui vivait dans une petite ville .C'était un homme pieux  très respecté dans sa communauté . Une nuit il fit un rêve vif : il y avait un grand trésor caché au pied d'un pont, dans une grand ville lointaine . The next morning when he awoke, he was so struck with the dream that he knew he must immediately go to the big city, find the bridge, and look for the treasure. After a long and difficult journey he finally arrived at the bridge. Much to his disappointment however, the bridge was being guarded by sentries. Undeterred the Rabbi decided to wait until nightfall and sneak up under foot of the bridge. Le matin suivant une fois réveillé il était si impressionné par ce rêve qu'il sût qu'il devait se mettre en route immédiatement, rejoindre cette ville et chercher ce trésor. Après un long et difficile voyage finalement il atteignit le pont . A sa grande déception toutefois, le pont était gardé par des sentinelles . Non découragé le Rabin décida d'attendre que tombe la nuit pour se faufiler au pied du pont. As he was near approaching his goal one of the soldiers shouted for him to stop, and asked him what he was doing. Upset and a little embarrassed the Rabbi confessed that he had had a dream that great treasure was hidden under the foot of that bridge. Comme il allait atteindre son but un des soldats lui cria de s'arrêter et lui demanda ce qu'il faisait là . Contrarié et un peu gêné le Rabin confessa qu'il avait eu un rêve sur un grand trésor qui serait caché là au pied de ce pont .  The soldier laughed. He said, "Only last night, I myself had a crazy dream about great treasure being stored in the kitchen of a Rabbi's house in a small town." Le soldat se mit à rire. l lui dit " Pas plus tard qu'hier soir j'ai fait moi aussi un rêve dingue au sujet d'un grand trésor caché dans la cuisine de la maison d'un Rabin qui vit dans une petite ville." The Rabbi smiled and thanked the soldier. He returned home content. Le Rabin sourit et remercia le soldat . Il s'en retourna satisfait .
