When Nelson Mandela was studying law at the University, a white professor, whose last name was Peters, disliked him intensely. 

Lorsque Mandela étudiait le droit à l'Université un professeur blanc nommé Peters le détestait cordialement 

One day, Mr. Peters was having lunch at the dining room when Mandela came along with his tray & sat next to the professor. 

Un jour ce Monsieur Peters prenait son repas au resta U quand Mandela arriva avec son plateau et s'assit près du professeur 

The professor said, 
"Mr Mandela, you do not understand, a pig & a bird do not sit together to eat" 

Le professeur dit : " Monsieur Mandela vous ne comprenez pas , un cochon et un oiseau ne s'assoient pas ensemble pour manger "

Mandela looked at him as a parent would a rude child & calmly replied, 
*"You do not worry professor. I'll fly away,"* 
& he went & sat at another table. 

Mandela le regarda tel un parent regarderait un enfant mal élevé et lui répondit calmement : " Ne vous inquiétez pas Professeur , je vais m'envoler " 

Mr. Peters, reddened with rage, decided to take revenge. 

Mr Petres vert de rage décida de se venger 
The next day in class he posed the following question: 
"Mr. Mandela, if you were walking down the street & found a package, & within was a bag of wisdom & another bag with money, which one would you take ?" 

Le jour suivant en classe il posa cette question : " Monsieur Mandela si en marchant dans la rue vous trouviez un paquet avec dedans un sac de sagesse et un autre sac avec de l'argent, lequel prendriez-vous ? " 

Without hesitating, Mandela responded, "The one with the money, of course."

Sans hésiter Mandela répondit : " Le sac avec l'argent, évidemment ."

Mr. Peters , smiling sarcastically said, 
"I, in your place, would have taken the wisdom." 

Mr Peters sourit et sarcastiquement  :  Moi, à votre place, j'aurais choisi la sagesse "

Nelson Mandela shrugged & responded, *"Each one takes what he doesn't have."* 

Nelson Mandela haussa les épaules et répondit : " Chacun prend ce qui lui manque. "

Mr. Peters, by this time was about to throw a fit, seething with fury. So great was his anger that he wrote on Nelson Mandela's exam sheet the word *"IDIOT"*
& gave it to the future struggle icon. 

Mr Peters à ce stade était près de faire une attaque tant il était en furie . Si grande était sa colère qu'il écrivit sur la feuille d'examen de Mandela  " IDIOT"et la donna à la future icône de la lutte 

Mandela took the exam sheet & sat down at his desk trying very hard to remain calm while he contemplated his next move. 

Mandela prit la veille d'examen et s'assit à son pupitre essayant très fort de garder son calme tout en contemplant sa prochaine réplique 

A few minutes later, Nelson Mandela got up, walked up to the professor & told him in a dignified polite tone, 

Quelques minutes plus tard , Nelson Mandela se leva , se dirigea vers le professeur et lui dit d'un ton digne et poli 
"Mr. Peters, *you signed your name on the sheet*, but you forgot to give me my grade." 

"Mr Peters, Vous avez signé  de votre nom la feuille d'examen mais vous avez oublié de me noter ."
